We love all the Shadowhunter books! In fact, Cassandra Clare is one of our favorite authors. We decided to share which Myers-Briggs matches the character from The Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments and The Dark Artifices. Tell us your Myers-Briggs in the comments and if you relate to the character who matches you! We’re an ENTJ and an INFJ.

ENFJ: The Protagonist
Will Herondale fits the ENFJ personality description. ENFJs are known for being strong leaders, charismatic, passionate and intense. They also take their relationships very seriously and want long-term commitment. Just like Will with Tessa!
INFJ: The Advocate
Jem Carstairs embodies the characteristics of the INFJ. INFJs are sensitive, compassionate and always want to do what’s right. They’re also known for their creativity, just like Jem and his love of music.
INTJ: The Architect
Tessa Gray is an obvious INTJ, from her love of knowledge, to her rational actions. INTJs are one of the rarest personality types and usually describe people who are independent, ambitious, determined and curious. Nothing could stop Tessa when she put her mind to something.
INTP: The Logician
Henry Branwell is everyone’s favorite absent-minded professor. INTPs love to solve mysteries and are constantly learning. They tend to be creative, open-minded and analytical. As a scientist, Henry fits the INTP description well.
ESFJ: The Consul
Charlotte Fairchild, aka the fearless leader and maternal figure. ESFJs are people who like to offer guidance and support to others. They’re known for their loyalty, sense of duty and protective nature. Charlotte fits the ESFJ personality well, based on all her actions in The Infernal Devices.
ESTP: The Entrepreneur
Jessamine Lovelace, the girl who just wanted to be in London high society and escape the Shadowhunters. Jessamine fits the ESTP characters of being social, humorous and insensitive. Jessamine was known for her direct nature and her desire to be a proper lady.

ENTP: The Debater
Jace Herondale is everyone’s favorite bad boy with a heart of gold and one of the most popular book boyfriends in YA! The main trait of an ENTP is their quick wit, which can be seen with Jace’s banter throughout The Mortal Instruments. ENTP’s are charismatic, energetic and quick thinkers.
ENFP: The Campaigner
Isabelle Lightwood isn’t afraid to take what she wants out of life. Like a true ENFP, Isabelle is a free spirit and super independent. She’s also outgoing, spontaneous and perceptive.
INFP: The Mediator
Simon Lewis and Alec Lightwood are actually the same Myers-Briggs in our opinion. Even though they are different people, they’re similar in many ways, especially when it comes to loyalty and sensitivity. Remember in City of Bones, Simon hated Jace and Alec hated Clary. That was because both felt like they were losing their best friend/crush.
ISFP: The Adventurer
Clary Fairchild (Fray) is adventurous, artistic and creative, just like and ISFP personality. Clary is known for her artistic ability and for being imaginative and curious. Clary fits this personality type perfectly.
ESFP: The Entertainer
Magnus Bane is best described as the life of the party. He knows who is and nobody can change that. ESFPs are outgoing, social, stylish and fun. Magnus’s personality fits perfectly.

ENTJ: The Commander
Emma Carstairs: strong, determined and strategic. Like ENTJs, Emma is a leader and will do whatever it takes to succeed. ENTJs are the rarest personality type for women. Emma embodies all the characteristics of an ENTJ, both the good and the bad. Christy understands this because she’s also an ENTJ and recognizes that they are stubborn and often impatient. However, they are also the most efficient.
ISFJ: The Defender
Julian Blackthorn is quite opposite of Emma, considering he’s more sensitive, shy and artistic. While he may be reserved, Julian has the inner strength needed to care for his siblings. ISFJs are hard working, reliable and patient. They’d do anything for those they love and usually in a practical way.
ESTJ: The Executive
Helen Blackthorn doesn’t have as much page time as the other characters because of her unique situation. But Helen is a take-charge woman. ESTJs have a very strong sense of justice and will always fight for what’s right, especially when it comes to fae discriminations. They tend to be strong-willed and dedicated, but also very stubborn.
ISTJ: The Logistician
Catarina Loss and Cristina Rosales are the same personality type in our opinion. However, don’t confuse ISTJ with INTP. Both Catarina and Cristina are known for their kindness and integrity. Just like ISTJs, the two embody being responsible, calm, practical and jack of all trades.
ISTP: The Virtuoso
Ty Blackthorn is a unique character because he’s observant, intelligent, but tends to keep to himself. He’s hard to win over, but fiercely loyal when it comes to his family. ISTPs are known for being rational thinkers and they know how to prioritize. However, they tend to come off as stubborn, unenthusiastic and private.
This is awesome! I’m Will Herondale!

Helen Blackthorn apparently. Idk how accurate it is because I haven’t done a Meyers Briggs test since middle school.

I can’t remember other than I was on the borderline for many of them. Very situational for me.

Julian Blackthorne. Oh gross! I honestly low-key hated him in these books 😂😬. Although maybe I hated his decisions because they were things that I would do🤷♀️

He made some bad choices with Emma, but he was a good guy!
