Why did we pick this book?
This book looks like the perfect read for October! It’s full of magic, secret societies and history. The setting of 1870s New Orleans adds a fun twist. Plus, who can resist a good murder mystery this time of year?
What is this book about?
Set in 1872, New Orleans is controlled by the dead. Celine Rousseau moves to the city from Paris, where she learns of the world of La Cour De Lions, an underworld organization. When bodies start showing up, Celine grows suspicious of the organization’s leader, Sebastian. Dark secrets are revealed and Celine must put herself in danger to figure out the unsolved murders.

Ah, I love secret societies! I saw this so many times and I may have it on my TBR even (there are so many books there I have no idea anymore…) but it’s a great reminder! Maybe I’ll pick it up!
