A Song Below Water was published in June 2020.
Why did we pick this book?
We partner with Bards Alley, a local indie bookstore, for YA book club. This was the book picked this month because it’s gotten a lot of hype. We’re intrigued with a fantasy YA book about sirens. Read this book and join us for virtual book club on Monday, August 24th at 7 p.m. EDT. Contact us for more information!
What is this book about?
Portland, Oregon doesn’t have a lot of black people or people who have magical powers. Tavia doesn’t feel many people can relate to her. She has to hide the fact that she’s a siren because admitting it could be dangerous
Tavia’s life changes when a siren is on trial for murder. Now, her secret isn’t safe and political unrest arises. Portland will never be the same after the events of A Song Below Water.
