Summer Book Tag

Summer always has us searching for books set during this season. Who doesn’t love a cute beach read? We searched through our Goodreads and found all of our YA books that have summer in the title. Tell us if you’ve read any of these! Do you have a favorite book about summer?

The summer before Belly’s junior year in high school was different. It’s the perfect YA beach romance to cuddle up with.

Yet, maybe Taylor’s summer is the second chance she always needed. Waring: This is not just a cute contemporary! It has some really sad aspects, so only go in if you’re ready for an emotional rollercoaster.

8. Two Summers by Aimee Friedman

Two Summers refers to the two different paths that Summer Everett could take. One path has her heading to the South of France to spend time with her estranged father. The other she spends at home taking a photography class at the local college. Both have romance, heartbreak and adventure. So, which path should Summer choose? 

9. We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han

The last installment is set two years after It’s Not Summer Without You. Belly finished her freshman year in college and all feels right in the world. Until she finds out her boyfriend Jeremiah cheated on her. He’ll do anything to win Belly back…even propose. But, they’re only 19 and 20. Plus, Belly still has unresolved feelings for Conrad. 

10. My Summer of Love and Misfortune by Lindsay Wong

Iris Wang has been sent to spend her summer in Beijing, China. Even though she’s annoyed, she thinks it’s a good opportunity to hit the reset button and have some fun. She doesn’t expect to meet Frank, a hot language tutor and get drawn to Beijing’s elite.  

11. A Midsummer’s Nightmare by Kody Keplinger

Known for The DUFF, Keplinger has some other great books. A Midsummer’s Nightmare follows Whitney Johnson spending the summer with her divorced dad…and his fiancée…and her son. The worst part: She may have hooked up with her soon to be step brother. Whitney doesn’t fit in with her dad’s new rich crowd, so she acts out. But, she doesn’t notice all the good things in her life. Whitley is a complex character if you’re looking for a summer read that isn’t light.
