1. Snow Day – What’s your “comfort” book?

The Distance Between Us by Kasie West. As our readers know, we love Kasie West books. The Distance Between Us is one of our favorites for its sweet romance. Cayman Myers and Xander Spence have adorable banter, but more importantly, they genuinely grow to care about one another as they tackle some heavy issues. West books always have the perfect blend of romance, humor, and something series, which is why we will always go back to them.
2. Snow Angels – What’s a book that you love so much?

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare. This was one of our favorite books of 2020. It may only be book one, but we’re already attached to the characters and are dying for book two, Chain of Iron. We love the characters, the friendships, the setting of Edwardian London, and reuniting with our favorite Shadowhunters from The Infernal Devices series!
3. Warm Socks – What’s a book that makes you feel warm inside?

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. TATBILB is a cult classic YA romance series. Han created the perfect pair with Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky. They bring us joy whenever we read (or watch) the series. From their adorable beginnings as a couple right until the end of the series, we were rooting (and squealing) for them. If you’re looking for a series to give you the warm and fuzzies, look no further!
4. Hot Cocoa – What winter-themed novels have you previously read?

The Juniper Falls series by Julie Cross. The three books in this series, Off the Ice, Breaking the Ice and On Thin Ice, follow the lives of teens in small town Minnesota. Everything about this town screams winter, especially the love for hockey. These three books can be read on their own. However, you’ll enjoy them more if you read them in order. Grab a cup of hot chocolate and warm blanket for these winter reads.
5. Sledding – What’s a book with the best plot twists?

All Your Twisted Secrets by Diana Urban. We read this book for a monthly book club— and wow! The mystery is pieced together so perfectly, the reader is dying to get to the end. And when you finally do reach the end, you are left ~shook~ by the major plot twist. We definitely did not see that ending coming! Urban definitely knows how to write plot twists.
6. Ugly Sweaters – What’s a book with the ugliest cover?

The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White. Are we biased? Sure. We admit that we didn’t enjoy this book. However, we feel like most YA covers are pretty great. This one didn’t stand out to us.
7. Movie Marathon – What’s the last book you binge read?

The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by Jenn Bennett. Bex and Jack didn’t plan to fall for each other. One chance meeting in the middle of night starts a whirlwind of adventure around San Francisco. Christy read this book in one sitting. Be on the lookout for our Jenn Bennett post coming in January!
8. Letter to Santa – What’s a book that’s on your wishlist this year?

The Cousins by Karen McManus. We’ve been eagerly anticipating this one since we read One of Us is Next back in January. McManus’s first three books put her on our always read list. We’ve read great reviews for this book, which follows Milly, Aubrey and Jonah Story as they learn about dark family secrets. We hope to see this one underneath the Christmas Tree.
That book is a great choice for making you feel warm inside 🙂 I love this post, thank you for sharing x

Thank you! It was hard to find one because most YAs have great covers. The Cousins might be our January book club pick.

This is such a great tag! I agree that the Guinevere Deception has a rather ugly cover compared to most YA books. I’m rather enjoying the story though, even if it is not quite up to the standard of The Conqueror’s Saga. Thanks for sharing! I’m bookmarking this tag to do later.

You should start with City of Bones. We did a review for it a few months ago. We think you’ll enjoy the books more if you read in order of publication. We hope you love the Shadowhunter universe as much as we do 🙂
