Why did we pick this book?
We love Kara Thomas and it has been forever since we picked up one of her books. Her mysteries and thrillers always leave us on the edge of our seats. We only recently learned about it when we read an arc review from Worlds Unlike Our Own. We knew we had to read it ASAP and the publication date worked perfectly for our July book club meeting. What is this book about?
Claire, Kat and Jesse planned the perfect prom weekend getaway to a lake house. Only, 48 hours later Claire wakes up in the woods all alone and bloody. She has no memory of what happened and Kat and Jesse are missing. Her memories are in there, but Claire has no idea how to retrieve them and is scared to see what will happen when she knows the truth. This YA mystery already has great reviews and is bound to leave readers speechless.

Thomas wrote The Cheerleaders, The Darkest Corners and Little Monsters. Under the name Kara Taylor, she wrote the Prep School Confidential series.

This sounds incredibly intense! If I enjoyed thrillers a bit more, I’d be so interested in joining the book club. I’m looking forward to hearing what everyone thought of the book at the end of the month 🙂

Ooo this book sounds so interesting & it reminds me a bit of In A Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. Instead of a prom getaway, it’s a hen do, but the main character doesn’t remember the events that happened either.
