Pip’s good girl days are long behind her. After solving two murder cases and garnering internet fame from her crime podcast, she’s seen a lot.
But she’s still blindsided when it starts to feel like someone is watching her. It’s small things at first. A USB stick with footage recording her and the same anonymous source always asking her: who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears? It could be a harmless fan, but her gut is telling her danger is lurking.
When Pip starts to find connections between her possible stalker and a local serial killer, Pip knows that there is only one choice: find the person threatening her town including herself–or be as good as dead. Because maybe someone has been watching her all along…

Book Review

We’ve been eagerly anticipating how Jackson would wrap up this amazing YA mystery series. We absolutely loved A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and Good Girl, Bad Blood, so we were so excited to participate in the blog tour.
After the devastating events of Good Girl, Bad Blood, Pippa Fitz-Amobi is figuring out how to move on and get ready to go to Columbia University. But things aren’t that simple. Once Pip starts receiving threats online, she knows this more than an internet stalker. Suddenly, she finds messages for her around town and in front of her house. Messages that meet the MO of a serial killer from years ago, known as the DT Killer.
But the DT Killer, according the police, is already behind bars. Unfortunately for Pip, she believes they got the wrong guy. As things start to get more dangerous for Pip, she has to make some tough decisions. And then she has to figure out, is there ever coming back for what she’s about to do?
After Pip solved her most recent mystery, we had no idea what was in store for her in As Good As Dead. We can say that this is definitely the darkest and most shocking book of the trilogy. Pip is no longer the good girl who got in over her head. She makes some tough choices about if she should protect herself or face some serious consequences.
The biggest plot twist happens about half-way through the book, when life for Pip changes forever. With some quick thinking and the help of her friends, Pip tries to pull off something that’s almost impossible. While we wish we could spill our guts out about what happened, we don’t want to spoil the book for anyone. However, if you’ve already read it, tell us your reaction in the comments!
The second half of the book felt like non-stop excitement. The suspense of Pip getting caught and her plan not working gave us chills. Jackson does her research and literally thinks of every possible scenario. It’s obvious that she is a true crime aficionado.
In terms of relationships, we’re always happy to read Ravi scenes. He’s so sweet and supportive. Plus, we love a man with a good sense of humor. But he’s not the only great relationship, Pip also has some amazing friends like Connor, Cara, Naomi, Jamie and Nat. Yep, you read that right. Pip and Nat have been able to leave the past in the past.
While we’re so sad to leave this world behind, we think Jackson delivered the perfect ending. We will definitely read any of her future books. If you loved the first two books in the series, don’t hesitate to pick up the third ASAP!

Top 5 Reasons to Read As Good As Dead
1. Pip is a Total Badass
Pip is strong, intelligent and a major risk-taker. However, she’s also kind, empathetic and generous. She’s the perfect badass detective and will do anything to protect the people she loves. Her character shifted a bit from the first book after everything she witnessed, but it felt like a natural progression. When someone comes after Pip, she won’t go down without a fight.
2. The Suspenseful Mystery
If you want a book to keep you on the edge of your seat before Halloween, look no further. Whether you’ve started A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series or you’re starting from the beginning, you won’t be able to put any of the books down.
3. Everything Comes Full Circle
One of the best parts of the mystery in As Good As Dead is that Pip’s journey comes full circle. Her current investigation all leads back to the disappearance of Andie Bell. Everything that’s happened in this small Connecticut town in the last six years all goes back to the original investigation. Trust us, it feels like Pip wraps everything up smoothly.
4. Pip’s Strong Support System
As we mentioned in the review, Pip has a great boyfriend and supportive friends. She also has a good home life overall. While her mom is annoying at times, we adore her dad and her brother Josh. Her dad calls her “pickle” and it’s super sweet. Pip is super lucky for the people in her life.
5. Pip and Ravi’s Adorable Romance
Without Ravi, none of this would be possible. He helped Pip exonerate his brother Sal in the first book and stuck by Pip’s side in book 2 and 3. No idea too crazy. We wanted them to have an HEA from the start and appreciate that there wasn’t a love triangle involved here. Ravi was always endgame for Pip. Plus, he’s also equally ambitious and plans on going to law school. Talk about a power couple!
