Why did we pick this book?

One of everyone’s favorite book club picks from 2021 was Jessica Goodman’s They’ll Never Catch Us. When we found out about The Counselors, we knew it would be perfect for June. This YA Thriller is set at an elite summer camp the summer before starting college. The setting and summer vibes are perfect to get us ready for the warm weather. What is this book about?

Goldie and her two best friends Imogen and Ava are ready for their last summer before college. The three are counselors at Camp Alpine Lake, a place they’ve been going to for many years. But this year Goldie is hiding a dark secret. And when the guy who hurt Goldie turns up dead in the lake, all of her plans for a carefree summer vanish. If Goldie wants to protect herself and learn the truth of what happened, she better start asking the right questions.
