Happy spooky season everyone! This tag was created by Shelby Masako and we found it to be really fun. We love Halloween and fall in general, so we thought this tag would be perfect for October.
What Goes Bump in the Night? Name a book that legitimately scared you while reading it

The Dead List is one of the scariest books in YA. Ella is attacked outside a pool party right before senior year starts. She thins it’s a random attack, but when the people around her start dying, Ella knows the killer can’t be a random person. Nobody in this town is safe. If you give this Armentrout book a read, beware, it can be graphic.
Jack-o’-Lanterns & Classic Costumes: A book you always reach for during Halloween time

We first read Killing November two years ago and now we think of it as a must-read for autumn. The dark academia book set a boarding school in an undisclosed location is addicting. We couldn’t put it down and found ourselves drawn into November’s story from day one.
Black Cats & Magic Mirrors: A book you love that is laced with superstition and/or magic

The magic in Ruby Red is all about time travel. Gwen didn’t think she had the time traveling gene in her family, but when she travels to the past by accident, she knows her life will change forever. If you like books about magic, history and romance, this series is for you.
Witch’s Brew: Favorite witch character in any book/series

Cassie Blake is our all-time favorite witch. We can read The Secret Circle over and over again without getting tired of the story. Cassie and her coven live in New Salem, Massachusetts. When dark magic attacks begin, the coven must come together to defeat an old evil.
Ghouls & Ghosts: A book that still haunts you to this day (good or bad)

Clockwork Angel is our favorite book. When we first read it, we couldn’t stop thinking about our favorite shadowhunters. We still remember the feeling of being fully immersed in this story and wondering what would happen to Tessa, Will and Jem.
Haunted Graveyard: You’re all alone in a haunted graveyard; you get one book to give you comfort. Which is it?

Alex, Approximately is the closet we have to a comfort read. If you want a book to make you smile, it’s this one of Bennett’s YA contemporaries. It’s a summer beach romance with dynamic characters and a clever plot.
The Undead: Favorite supernatural creatures to read about

Fae are great characters to read about because they differ drastically based on the author. There’s the Fae from The Cruel Prince, The Shadowhunter Chronicles, Zodiac Academy and These Twisted Bonds. While there tends to be some overlap in worlds, none of the characters are remotely the same.
In the Dead of Night: Pick a book with a black cover

Only two more months until Zodiac Academy 8: Sorrow and Starlight releases. We love the black cover and can’t wait to get back to Solaria. The last book left us with a major cliffhanger and we need to know more about what happens to the Vega twins.
what a fun tag, loved reading your responses! Killing November sounds like such a great spooky read, need to pick it up.
