So what does she do? She decides to be impulsive once in her life and pretends to be Gemma, the fake girl online, so this guy doesn’t become a laughing stock. But she didn’t expect to like Asher, especially since he’s the exact opposite of her.

Review: Going Dark by Melissa de la Cruz

It was a dream vacation until it wasn’t. Josh Reuter and his beautiful influencer girlfriend Amelia Ashley just spent almost two weeks in Europe. They visited Paris, France for a couple of days and spent the rest of the time in Rome, Italy.

But on their last day in Rome at a nice restaurant, Amelia started going crazy. She yelled at Josh, smashed the glass wine bottle and ran away…right before they needed to leave for the airport. Josh went back to San Diego alone, not understanding why Amelia acted that way.

Review: This Is the Way the World Ends by Jen Wilde

Waverly sticks out at her prestigious Manhattan school, Webber Academy. She’s from Queens, low-income, autistic and queer, so most of the time she feels out of place at school.

To make extra money, Waverly tutors the rich kids at her school, including the beautiful and popular Caroline. One day when Waverly is at Caroline’s house, Caroline gives Waverly an expensive gown and accessories. The reason: Caroline doesn’t feel like going to the Masquerade Ball, the dean’s annual fundraising event.

1. The Amateurs

The Amateurs was Shepard’s most recent series and it’s a trilogy set in the Northeast. Years ago, Helena Kelly went missing and her little sister Aerin never recovered.

Now, a group of amateur detectives, including Aerin, true crime enthusiast Seneca and their new friends Maddox, Madison and Brett, meet up in Connecticut to figure out what really happened to Helena. Too bad this group is in way over their heads and the mysterious killer is closer than they think.

Everyone thought that Summer Cartwright lived the perfect life as a teen influencer. She’s pretty, popular and has millions of followers. On top of that, she has an amazing boyfriend (well, she did until last week), great friends and attends an elite school in Los Angeles. Everything is going perfectly in her life, especially since she got a book deal. Her career and post-high school life are mapped out for her.

Well, until the night of her Halloween party. Everyone who is anyone is going to be there and Summer has big plans. Her best friend Grace Godwin is keeping track of attendees and their friendship seems to be improving. After a big fight, Grace and Summer are getting back to normal.

Review: Chain of Thorns by Cassandra Clare

Finally, after almost two years of waiting, Chain of Thorns released on January 31, 2023. The last book in The Last Hours trilogy was our most anticipated book of 2023 and it did not disappoint.

Picking up right after the events of Chain of Iron, Chain of Thorns takes readers to a different part of England and to Paris, France.

Cordelia Carstairs is devastated about how her marriage with James Herondale is going. Needing a friend, Cordelia seeks comfort from Matthew Fairchild, leading the two to go on an adventure in Paris. Matthew hasn’t lost hope that Cordelia could love him back and he hopes that this vacation will lead to romance.

When we saw Hot Dutch Daydream on NetGalley, we knew we had to request it. It’s the companion book to Hot British Boyfriend, which we really enjoyed. In Hot British Boyfriend, Sage Cunningham was the studious and responsible one in her friend group. Now, she’s ready the be the main character as she spends her summer in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

We love reading YA books set in college and Begin Again did not disappoint.
