Desperate Forest follows Roselynn, the Princess of the Kingdom of Tover, on a quest to escape her murderous uncle through an ominous forest– with the help of some unexpected friends! Engaged to Darius, the new King of the Kingdom of Marcsnovia, Roselynn’s life seemed perfect– that is, until her uncle murdered her father with the intent to kill her too. Roselynn escapes Tover with the intent of reaching Darius in Marcsnovia, hoping he can offer her help in reclaiming her kingdom. After a few short days on the run, she is captured by Jay, the cute, rugged and mysterious guy traveling to Galesmore with a group of other travelers fleeing the oppressive rule of Roselynn’s uncle, Abrax.

1. Anna and The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna Oliphant is forced to leave Atlanta and spend her senior year of high school at a boarding school, the School of America in Paris (SOAP). At first she hates the idea of leaving her mom and brother, her best friend, and her crush (and hopefully future boyfriend.) Upon arriving at SOAP, she quickly joins a group of friends that helps her explore the City of Lights and get over her fear of living in a foreign country. Almost instantly, Anna develops feelings for a member of the friend group, the charismatic, gorgeous (and very taken) Étienne St. Clair. Their friendship is tested when the two discover if being more than friends is in their future.

Review: I See London, I See France By Sarah Mlynowski

Sydney cannot wait to embark on her first European adventure with her best friend, Leela. Leela was supposed to go with her boyfriend, but they broke up right before the end of their freshman year of college. Desperate to still go on an adventure, Leela asks Sydney to use her savings to backpack through Europe. This doesn’t happen without complication though, because she is anxious to leave her younger sister with her anxiety ridden mother for over a month.

She’s the daughter of a lord and as such, she should behave like a lady. Audrey has other plans, caring more about forensics than afternoon tea. Under the supervision of her uncle, Audrey gets to examine the dead bodies that are brought in. When gruesome dead bodies of women show up more frequently, Audrey is determined to solve the mystery and end the horrendous killing spree that encompassed London.

Review: Fame, Fate and the First Kiss By Kasie West

We were really excited about this book because Lacey was one of the best characters in Love, Life and the List. She definitely deserved her own story— and her own chance at finding love! 

Lacey Barnes finally landed a role in a Hollywood movie—her dream job. She stalls her life and moves to Hollywood with her dad. Everything seems perfect, she has a leading role opposite megastar Grant James and the beginning of a promising career. However, Lacey is still in high school. The one thing she doesn’t want to deal with is school work. So when Lacey keeps blowing off her assignments, her dad hires her a relentless tutor…enter dreamboat, Donavan. Lacey thinks Donavan is the most stiff and boring guy she has ever met and accuses him of being a straight-laced choir boy. “Donovan: Loves homework, haircuts and harmonizing” (64). Donavan believes that Lacey is spoiled, insane and lazy, considering how hard he has to work to get her to do even one assignment.
