This YA City Guide is all about New York City! The city that never sleeps. The Big Apple. We admit, we became obsessed with NYC because of Gossip Girl. We used to dream of strolling the streets of the Upper East Side like Blair and Serena.

YA City Guide: London

Anyone else have major wanderlust or is it just us? We’re travel addicts and we’re always looking at ways to travel through reading.

We may also be guilty of scrolling through too many travel tags on Instagram… (sorry, not sorry)! If you’re like us and love to travel, then here are some of our favorite books set in Claire’s favorite city: London! 1. The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare

Our readers know that we love The Infernal Devices— we’ve gushed about it numerous times on our blog…but that won’t stop us from fangirling again with you all right now. This Shadowhunter series takes place in Victorian London. The year is 1878 and Tessa Gray enters London’s seedy supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother.

Along the way, she stumbles upon two Shadowhunters, Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs, who may be the key to finding her brother and unlocking the secret behind her strange supernatural ability.

The YA City Guide is a new feature on our blog to recommend books set in a certain city. First up is Paris, France! Paris is Christy’s favorite city in the world. It has everything: history, culture, shopping and the best food! If you’re dreaming of Paris, read these awesome books and daydream of your next adventure. Claire studied abroad there and followed Christy’s Paris guide. Though her heart will always lie with London, she may need to reevaluate her list and make it a tie 😉

1. Livraria Bertrand

You can’t go to Lisbon without visiting the oldest continually operated bookstore in the world! This store has been operating since 1732. Here you’ll find a mix of books in both Portuguese and English. This store even has a YA section. We found some of our faves from McManus, Clare and more! It’s always fun to find book you’ve read all over the world.

Want to travel the world? Us too! Unfortunately, we don’t always have the time or money. Reading can be the best escape to travel to far away lands.
