Author Interview: Amber Lynn Natusch

We’re so excited that we had the opportunity to interview Amber Lynn Natusch, the author of the Hometown Antihero series. Check our reviews for Dare You to Lie, Don’t Say a Word and Come Out and Play. We’re eagerly (and impatiently) waiting for the fourth and final installment.

1. When did you first realize that you wanted to be a writer?

Soooo….funny story. I never wanted to be a writer. I’m a science nerd at heart and always knew I would work in the health care industry (I own a chiropractic practice with my husband where I specialize in pregnancy and pediatric care). But I’ve always been a creative person and a daydreamer, and it wasn’t until I got back into reading after eight years of college and grad school that I started to remember how much I loved to use my imagination.

Can you think of other underrated books? Let us know in the comments!

1. Dare You to Lie by Amber Lynn Natusch

Dare You to Lie follows Kylene Danners as she moves back to her hometown of Jasperville, Ohio. But everything has changed. Her FBI agent father got sent to prison (he’s innocent) and nobody forgot the incident that made Kylene leave two years ago. Kylene just wants to save her dad and stop the toxic masculinity in this small town. Little does she know that both are connected. This town has a lot of dirty secrets and Kylene is ready to solve this mystery.

Kylene is one of our favorite MCs for her strength and fortitude. Dare You to Lie also has a great cast of supporting characters who are eager to help Kylene takedown the people who wronged her. If you’re looking for a fast-paced YA thriller series, pick these books up now. We’re eagerly anticipating book 4.

Review: Don’t Say a Word by Amber Lynn Natusch

Starting right where Dare You to Lie left off, Kylene Danners and her best friend Garrett Higgins are lucky to be alive. All Kylene wanted was to make the football players who took pictures of her pay, while simultaneously trying to get her dad out of prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Too bad Kylene stumbled upon something much bigger.

Agent Cedric Dawson is back in town for an FBI Investigation into missing girls, who are officially labeled as runaways. Kylene’s takedown of Donovan, the former Jasperville High defensive lineman, led to much bigger secrets coming out about the town of Jasperville and the corrupt people who live there. Someone is pulling the strings behind the scenes and Kylene is determined to figure out who and why. For some reason, every bad thing happening goes back to the mysterious Advocatus Diaboli, known as the AD.
