YA City Guide: Paris, France

One thing we miss right now is travel. We’re both travel addicts and can’t wait to explore the world. Do you want to travel right now but can’t? We can help with book recommendations. The YA City Guide is a new feature on our blog to recommend books set in a certain city. First up is Paris, France! Paris is Christy’s favorite city in the world. It has everything: history, culture, shopping and the best food! If you’re dreaming of Paris, read these awesome books and daydream of your next adventure. Claire studied abroad there and followed Christy’s Paris guide. Though her heart will always lie with London, she may need to reevaluate her list and make it a tie 😉

1. If you liked The Hunger Games, read The Testing

The Testing Trilogy (3 book series) Kindle Edition

The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau is an underrated YA series, and is basically a more intellectual version of The Hunger Games. Cia and three other students in her region get chosen to compete for spots at University. In this dystopian future United States, a massive world war left most of the world in shambles. Only the brightest can help bring back the country.

Cia believes that if she doesn’t pass her tests, then she’ll go back to her normal life. However, once students start disappearing, she realizes the price for failure is a lot higher than she ever imagined.

Around the World with YA Books

Want to travel the world? Us too! Unfortunately, we don’t always have the time or money. Reading can be the best escape to travel to far away lands. To help inspire your wanderlust, we came up with a list of YA books set in countries around the world. Did we miss any countries that you can think of a YA book for? Review: Enchantée by Gita Trelease
