Review: Don’t Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This book review is part of our then and now series, where we revisit books that we enjoyed in the past.

Summary

Samantha Franco is walking on the side of the road with no memory. Seriously, she has no idea who she is and how she ended up getting attacked. The police bring her to the hospital, where she is diagnosed with amnesia. Nothing helps restore her memories: not her parents, her brother or her boyfriend Del.

Things get worse when Sam starts learning about the night she went missing. Apparently, Sam was with her best friend Cassie Winchester, who is still missing. The more Sam learns about her previous life, her friendship with Cassie and the way she terrorized people, the more she wants to forget her former persona.

Underrated YA Books Part 2

We’ve been wanting to write a follow up post to our first Underrated YA Books post from 2019. We rounded up a list of amazing books that don’t get talked about enough. Check out our recommendations for fans of YA books below!

Can you think of other underrated books? Let us know in the comments!

1. Dare You to Lie by Amber Lynn Natusch

Dare You to Lie follows Kylene Danners as she moves back to her hometown of Jasperville, Ohio. But everything has changed. Her FBI agent father got sent to prison (he’s innocent) and nobody forgot the incident that made Kylene leave two years ago. Kylene just wants to save her dad and stop the toxic masculinity in this small town. Little does she know that both are connected. This town has a lot of dirty secrets and Kylene is ready to solve this mystery.

Kylene is one of our favorite MCs for her strength and fortitude. Dare You to Lie also has a great cast of supporting characters who are eager to help Kylene takedown the people who wronged her. If you’re looking for a fast-paced YA thriller series, pick these books up now. We’re eagerly anticipating book 4.

14 Couples to Swoon Over for Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we always crave a book with a swoon-worthy romance. We’ve lined up 14 of our fave YA couples to get you in the Valentine’s Day spirit. Tell us your favorite down below!

1. Xander and Caymen: The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

Caymen couldn’t stand Xander the first time she met him. In her mind, every rich person was trouble. Xander keeps showing up and convincing Caymen to spend time with him. The two had more in common than they thought…they both felt their parents dictate their future careers. That’s when they created career days. They’d each plan a day to help the other to decide what to do with their lives. The chemistry could not be denied in West’s first contemporary YA. Xander charmed us instantly and we loved Caymen’s dry sense of humor. The two may be stubborn, but they brought out the best in each other. The Distance Between Us is one of our favorite books from West.
