It’s almost 2022, which means it’s almost time to read some of our most anticipated books. 2021 was an amazing reading year for us and we have a feeling 2022 will only get better. Check out the books that we can’t wait for this year and let us know in the comments if any are on your TBR.
Note: We already read two 2022 books, Love from Scratch and These Deadly Games. We rated both five stars and recommend everyone add them to their 2022 TBR!
1. Nothing More to Tell by Karen McManus
We’ll read anything that Karen McManus writes at this point! Nothing More to Tell follows Brynn, who left an elite school after her favorite teacher was murdered. Four years later, Brynn is determined to find exactly what happened. She knows someone at that school got away with murder, but who? McManus mysteries always keep us guessing and we can’t wait to pick this one up on August 30th.
It’s almost the end of the year, which means it’s time to go through our books for the year and name the top 10! Remember, these are books that were released in 2021. While technically The Cousins released in December 2020, it was our January 2021 book club pick and Goodreads included in its 2021 reader’s choice awards.
Do you do a top books of the year list? Let us know in the comments! Maybe some of our favorites made your list too.
1. The Cousins by Karen McManus
As one of our first reads of 2021, The Cousins did not disappoint. Karen McManus has become one of our automatic buy authors since her mysteries always keep us on the edge of our seats. Everyone in out book club enjoyed McManus’s writing style, character development and twisty plot. The Cousins follows Aubrey, Jonah and Milly Story as they meet their grandmother for the first time on a mysterious island off the coast of Massachusetts. If you like complex family dynamics and dark plot twists, this book is for you.
This is Halloween, everybody scream! We’ve mentioned before that we absolutely love this time of year. It’s perfect for picking up a spooky read while drinking apple cider. Christy enjoys everything about Halloween, especially reading books and watching movies to get into the spirit.
What are your favorite books to get ready for Halloween? Let us know in the comments. Also, feel free to let us know your plans for Halloweekend in the comments.
Our regular readers know that we absolutely love doing travel guides based on books. Our previous guides include London, Paris, New York City and New England!
Today’s post is extra special because we’re from the Washington D.C. area. We love when we find a book set in our hometown because it’s fun to recognize where the characters go. If you plan on visiting our amazing city or just want some book recommendations, we hope you find a book that stands out to you.
Avery Kylie Grambs, a very risk gamble, is back after the cliffhanger that ended The Inheritance Games. Determined to learn more about the infamous Toby Hawthorne, Avery knows the mystery of why she received the Hawthorne fortune is tied to the long-lost son of Tobias.
We haven’t done a book haul since March, she we thought it was time to do another. Christy’s birthday is in September and she’s sharing the books she received this year.
Happy almost Autumn everyone! I love getting books for my birthday and this year I lucked out with an incredible haul. Have you read some of these books? Let me know in the comments. I can’t wait to spend my favorite season curled up with some amazing new reads.
