1. Dare You to Lie by Amber Lynn Natusch
Dare You to Lie follows Kylene Danners as she moves back to her hometown of Jasperville, Ohio. But everything has changed. Her FBI agent father got sent to prison (he’s innocent) and nobody forgot the incident that made Kylene leave two years ago. Kylene just wants to save her dad and stop the toxic masculinity in this small town. Little does she know that both are connected. This town has a lot of dirty secrets and Kylene is ready to solve this mystery.
Kylene is one of our favorite MCs for her strength and fortitude. Dare You to Lie also has a great cast of supporting characters who are eager to help Kylene takedown the people who wronged her. If you’re looking for a fast-paced YA thriller series, pick these books up now. We’re eagerly anticipating book 4.
In need of a YA series to binge? We have some awesome recommendations for series to read through immediately. Whether you want something cute and fluffy for summer, or a dark thriller for autumn, we have something for everyone.
1. Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard
Pretty Little Liars became a cult classic when the TV show released in 2010. But, we think the books are much better. Three years after Alison DeLaurentis disappears, former friends Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily start receiving mysterious text messages from someone named A. Pretty Little Liars is a perfect binge series because there are 16 books and two companion novels. Just get ready, the YA series is full of thrills and is even darker than the show.

1. The Hopeless Romantic: Better Than the Movie by Lynn Painter
Better Than the Moviesfollows hopeless romantic Liz as she tries to impress her former crush. Enter Wes: the guy next door and a serious pain in the ass. But if Liz can get Wes’s help, she can definitely succeed. But as they spend more time plotting, the more Liz realizes she actually more-than-tolerates Wes—she likes him. Painter’s debut book is perfect for fans of romcoms and those you just want something fun for the holiday season.
‘Tis the season! We love this time of a year and we’re also a sucker for a cute holiday romance. Now that Thanksgiving is officially over, it’s time to get into the holiday spirit. We put together a list of 15 books to help you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, the Winter Solstice and New Year’s Eve.
Whatever you celebrate, have a great holiday season filled with fun, family, friends and books! Now excuse us while we go grab a cozy blanket, get a cup of hot chocolate and dive into some holiday reads.
1. Pretty Little Secrets by Sara Shepard
Pretty Little Secrets is a companion book to Pretty Little Liars. It’s Winter in Rosewood, Pennsylvania and each girl has a crazy holiday season. Hanna’s Hanukkah isn’t off to a good start, Aria’s Winter Solstice leads to a shocking discovery, Emily’s Christmas plans lead to an arrest and Spencer gets into a New Year’s Eve competition. We love this hilarious and dramatic addition to one of our favorite series.

1. How Many Books are Too Many Books in a Series?
For the most part, we usually stick with trilogies for series. However, it depends. A few of our favorite series are 4+ books, including The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard. As long as we still like the story, we’ll keep reading.
Warning: Spoilers if you haven’t read the book series or watched the TV show.
The year is 2010. The two of us sat on a bed with ABC Family turned on, eagerly waiting for the premiere of Pretty Little Liars. We’d seen the show previews for weeks and couldn’t wait to watch this teen thriller. At the time, we hadn’t read the books.
The first book came out in 2006 and the last one released 2014. There are 18 books total, 16 are part of the regular series and two are companions.
The TV show lasted for seven seasons, from 2010-2017. We loved the first few seasons, but as time went on, it got more and more ridiculous. Eventually, we had to read the source material to see the differences.
Los Angeles: The California Dream. While it’s not our goal to be a celeb, it’s always a fun plot point. We listed our favorite books set in LA and can’t wait to share! Let us know if you’ve read any in the comments .
1. The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare
Set five years after The Mortal Instruments, we see Emma Cartiars and Julian Blackthorn at age 17. The Dark Artifices follows a group of shadowhunters at the Los Angeles Institute. Emma and Julian investigate a demonic plot, which takes through the city and around the amazing beaches. The Dark Artifices features old favorite characters, but has a completely different vibe from Clare’s other books. LA is a lot different from NYC and London. If you’re looking for a fantasy with California sunshine, look no further!
Delilah Rollins didn’t expect to become famous overnight. One video of her saving a puppy and suddenly everyone is talking about her. Now that she’s moving to LA for her dad’s job, she’s quickly brought into the world of social media influencers.
Jasmine Walters-Diaz, the childhood star, sometimes wants to escape it all. Her former role has turned her into a perpetual rainbow-wearing girl, even though she’s outgrown the persona.
