I'm All Booked Up YA

Emma Lord has become a household name when it comes to YA contemporary books ever since her debut novel released in 2020. Since then, she’s released a book every January. We’ve been lucky to receive ARCs of all of her books, which are always fun and adorable.

So just in time for Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d share our ranking of Lord’s books with all of you, since her books always feature cute romance.

This post is all about Emma Lord’s best books and will be updated every year. We can’t wait what she has in store for us in 2024.

1. Begin Again

We love reading YA books set in college and Begin Again did not disappoint.

Andie Rose is ecstatic to transfer to Blue Ridge State. But when Andie arrives at college, nothing goes as planned for her. Her boyfriend Connor transferred to her former community college and the course work is much harder than she anticipated.

1. Bread: What book is purely fluff and has no real plot line?

Maybe This Time by Kasie West. The book had no real plot in our opinion. We usually love West’s writing, but we couldn’t support Sophie and Andrew’s budding romance. Not much happened in the span of a year, where Sophie and Andrew spend all holidays together. While the premise had potential, the book fell flat.

This YA City Guide is all about New York City! The city that never sleeps. The Big Apple. We admit, we became obsessed with NYC because of Gossip Girl. We used to dream of strolling the streets of the Upper East Side like Blair and Serena.

Pepper’s mother owns a fast-food chain called Big League Burger. It used to be a mom and pop place in Nashville, but when it got popular, it expanded throughout the country, leading to Pepper and her mom trading in country life for the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Jack attends the same fancy private school as Pepper, but he doesn’t have the same money as his classmates. His twin Ethan, mom, dad and grandma, all run a deli called Girl Cheesing in the East Village. They are famous for their Grandma’s special grilled cheese sandwiches.
